Opening a second window during object creation

Is it possible to have a menu item (which can appear display an object creation) that allows you to open a separate query window without the form that is being displayed to create an object being closed ?

In other words at the moment if you are entering a new object, selecting any other option would force you to cancel the current operation. If you could open a secon window with a query form in it that would allow you check some details that could affect what you are trying to enter, it would be very useful.

You can define a custom menu with HTML hyperlinks rather than using the standard menu. A hyperlink can invoke any operation that the standard menu invokes (the list of the URL's is in the User Guide).

Moreover, you can define a hypelink to open a new browser by setting its HTML "target" attribute: target="_blank"
