Config Tool Windows aren't sized correctly

Post by kklosson »

In my config tool., many dialog windows open at the wrong size and often have to be resized to access basic controls. See screenshot. I have run ResetWindow.bat, but that has no effect. I have also tried various different (and normal) screen resolutions. Is there a config file I can delete that will rebuild itself? Does anyone else experience this?

Funny, on the video tutorials, I believe they all look normal.

Because he is running a lower res.
But if you have a big monitor you really need to change the def. size or it’s just too small.
Mark reported this before the eclipse version, but eclipse really made it easy to increase the font sizes, except for the 10~20 places where Vlad has overlooked the positioning.

Edit toolbar (on panel operations) is a biggie because you can only move an item up - you can barely still see the button, but you can NOT see Move Down.

And on a Button on a Form, if you select Delete, the two options are hidden for “delete instance” & “delete reference”.

Lots of places for a new user to totally get hung up and frustrated.

Totally agree, new users move on

There are numerous places where this occurs, the only way sometimes is to change screen res to access the settings. Adjusting the form size ignores the area in the form that needs adjusting.

All the other issues with this so-called "more efficient and beautiful Eclipse version" should be resolved especially from a new user perspective . Those in the know just wrangle and work their way through and put up with it

you're lucky you can see "delete instance” & “delete reference"
At my sizing, they are not even visible.
One time, somehow (maybe I hit a tab or right arrow in the Config Tool by accident) "Delete Reference" got selected... thats bad. Then Entries from the Sales Rep table were getting deleted instead of the simple record pointing TO the Sales Rep.

and here's one I always see:

I am sure a way around this problem is to simply increase the default size of the pop-up forms in the Configurator. Why are the pop-up forms that small anyway. We can at least double the size of the width, also some on the height. I find myself always having to stretch the form to see rule details.

Also when resizing a form we want to resize the inside window as well, the scrolling part stays fixed which is just wrong!
