Selecting Data for Reports

Post by Hubertus »

Hello

I have a BO containing several thousand records (currently 15000).
Now the user runs a query based on a form and enters some search criteria.
Additionally the user might run some reduce/extend searches.
Let's say the desired result contains 700 records that the user wants to see in a report.
The only solution I found is to add an operation that applies to multiple items.
But selecting 700 records manually is somehow painful.
Did I miss something or does anyone have an idea on how to accomplish this ?

Thanks,
Hubertus

The only solution I found is to add an operation that applies to multiple items.

Does this operation run a report? If so, can you specify a query when defining the report in the Configuration Tool? Note that this query can use values "entered at run-time", so the user will be able to specify parameters of the query before the report is run.

Thanks for that, but doing it that way would directly open the report, without the ability to check if the results are ok. Additionally, correct me if I'm wrong, I can't use the extend/reduce search thing.

The perfect solution to my problem would IMHO be the ability to specify an operation that applies to all records. E.g. place an operation beside "Export" and "Printer friendly version" in the title bar of the result.

Is this something you could do as a payed extension ?
