Will recurrence work in a normal form?

I have an appointment BO.
Recurrence works fine as long as the calendar events are created from the calendar query.
Is it possible to set recurrence when using a normal form rather than the special calendar form?

I don’t see why you couldn’t set those fields with a store procedure.
