Server update removing custom themes

Post by bondicoffee »

Hi,

Can you let me know how to avoid custom themes being deleted after Awareim server updates ?

Thanks!

1st I name /AwareIM to something else.
I do updates by installing into a new AwareIM dir, then copy my specific files into that.

On all these new builds that rapidly release, it would be nice to improve the update procedures.
There’s only 1/few files that actually are updated by the new build, yet 7000 files need to install.
Aware.jar or the config tool and some .JS can be replaced if we knew which had bug fixes.
Would be a lot more painless.

https://awareim.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=55587#p55587 specifically https://www.ej-technologies.com/product ... rview.html

Would also be great if we could apply votes to various Feature Requests to assess demand for features.

Code: Select all

An update should never touch anything in the AwareIM/Tomcat/webapps/AwareIM/aware_kendo/Custom directory

So all your custom CSS/JSS files should be there

Thank you support and AwareIM devs for your replies. If AwareIm updates build files automatically that would be great!

Currently, we are placing custom themes at AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\AwareIM\KendoUI\styles directory. I will try moving them to AwareIM/Tomcat/webapps/AwareIM/aware_kendo/Custom directory.

Thanks!

In my current install (Windows, builds 2921 and 2938), there is no "AwareIM/Tomcat/webapps/AwareIM/aware_kendo/Custom" directory.
However, there is a directory "AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\AwareIM\Custom"
Is that something different? And if so, are there two 'Custom' directories and for what purposes are they used? Are both directories left unchanged during a server update?

Sorry, my mistake. The correct directory name is:
AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\AwareIM\Custom

Everything inside this directory should be preserved during an update

Except if you install Aware on a different Drive rather than Drive C
