Strengthen your Wrists & Forearms with kendogridmulticolumns

Post by swiftinitpvtltd »

When you have 15+ columns in any kendogrid it shows up "..." in-front of each column when displayed and user indirectly Strengthens his Wrists & Forearms by moving his wrist many times to adjust the columns to see the data. This is not aware specific issue as such. Has anyone used freezing columns css or something in kendogrid to avoid this user exercise his wrist? Basically I need to know best way to handle large column kendogrids and still showing user data he needs to see with having 20 columns and with data in it.

Not really much to do except adding icons for things which I have used with great success e.g a faded icon for something off/low/disabled and full icon for this and that etc..

Improving the optio. When hoovering rows would help a lot as well i.e the tooltip/form that pop up qhen hoovering. On a related note, when the text is cut of te..... I would ideally want to hoover it and see the full text.

The Kendo grid has a "column menu" that the user can use to turn columns on/off . Maybe that will help?

To turn on the column menu option ....

Query Init Script:
config.columnMenu = true;

The Kendo grid also offers column freezing.

See the column menu Lock/Unlock options in this demo ... https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/frozen-columns

Everything suggested above is working perfectly fine for kendogrid! No wrist issues for the users now.
