3-state option for Yes/No please
In every database I've worked with, there is an option for 2-state or 3-state boolean, with the 3rd state being not selected. I would like to have that option in AIM.

Changing an attribute name removes <<>> from HTML form cells
I'm building a dashboard using an HTML form cell. When I changed an attribute name and went back to the form to make sure that the name had also changed in the HTML cell, all of the dozens of << and >> were gone. Steps: 1. Create a form with an HTML form cell. 2. Create a <<[something with a BO.attr...

Calculated reference attribute instances cannot be deleted
For my future benefit and for anyone who may be experiencing this, I hereby memorialize... I don't know if this a bug or a feature, but I just re-learned that if you set a reference attribute as "Calculated", when you add a delete operation for reference instances, the delete button does not appear ...

Re: ►Q◄ use built-in Access Levels, or make your own?
I probably should have done what you did, but I wanted to give my customers even more fine-grained control. I kept AccessLevel for determining User/Admin privileges (admins can purchase/assign licenses and invite users) and then added a table called Role which has a name attribute (i.e. Sales, Devel...

Re: Question about upgrading to 8.1 while under license
Update was issue-free, so whatever it was must have been addressed by a subsequent build.

If you're looking for an update script...
I wanted to give a shout-out to Suwandy (member cishpix), who updated my server and wrote a script so I can do it myself going forward. If you are using Windows, it wouldn't be much effort for him to modify it for your setup (and I'm sure he can write one for Linux too). He's very reasonable. Here's...

Re: Question about upgrading to 8.1 while under license
I don't see any bug fixes that point to an install/update issue, but it might have been a related issue to something else that was addressed. I'll keep my fingers crossed when I do mine.

Re: Question about upgrading to 8.1 while under license
This was a general question. For my future reference and as a FYI, when you go to the AwareIM website to update to a new version, you receive the following message: "IMPORTANT. You need a new license key for this update. After download has been completed go back to your license and copy the new lice...

Question about upgrading to 8.1 while under license
I'm running 8.0 and purchased my licenses less than a year ago. When I upgrade to 8.1, will I need to request new license numbers or will the existing ones still work?

Not present when value in form cell separator disappears
When I export to XML and then reimport, I lose the "Not present when" values from the form cell separators. Steps: 1. Create a form and add a separator with a "Not present when" condition. 2. Export to XML. 3. Import from XML. 4. Verify that the "Not present when" condition is missing. I am on build...

Re: Does IMPORT place the BO instances in context?
Ah, I see now. Yes, if I hard-coded it as you did Jaymer or if I used a non-password-propertied attribute as you did Tom, then there's no double-encryption issue. But it's not as secure as if it were randomly-generated in a NP BO so that the unencrypted password never leaves RAM and gets quickly gar...

Re: Does IMPORT place the BO instances in context?
Thanks Jaymer, that's helpful to know that password can be passed unencrypted. I don't know why it was encrypting for me. I'd rather avoid the hoops, so I'll try again. I was hoping that IMPORT instances were placed in context so I could insert the few rules I needed in the process and ditch WITH VA...

Does IMPORT place the BO instances in context?
When a user is created in the system, I create a temporary password that is emailed to the user in the form of a URL so they can auto-login and change the password. When I set a password in an attribute that has the property "password", it encrypts it, which is good. But that creates a problem if I ...

Re: Position Text Elements in Toolbar
There is a neat feature in the "Edit Toolbar" popup that does exactly what you want (if I understand you correctly). It's called "Right Aligner". Select a toolbar item, click on "Edit Toolbar, select the last item in the list, click "Right Aligner", move it up to where you want it and everything aft...

Re: HTML form cells seem to be fragile
Ah, that was it. I've gotten so spoiled by AwareIM, that I forgot to check the server log for errors. Thanks to both of you.
