Constructing an attribute from a text and number attribute
Guys, I need to populate an attribute that is plain text 8. The first four characters come from a plain text 4 attribute already existing in the database. No problem. The second part (4 characters) comes from a number attribute that is initialised to zero. Each time I need to populate the plain text...

Re: Several business spaces with a single database
I also like the workflow idea as a tool to manage enterprise-level bsv's. I would be interested to see Aware's response to the feasibility of the idea.

Re: Several business spaces with a single database
Hi Pointswell,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts also. It sounds like having several bsv's accessing one external database is not a good idea, as it is fighting the AwareIm concept.

Re: Several business spaces with a single database
Hi ACDC, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree that one enterprise database does make data access super simple. I was thinking (though I am not technical, so could be way off) that separate bsv's would improve performance by having them run on different servers etc. They would also eliminate any...

Re: Several business spaces with a single database
I'm surprised that no-one has posted some thoughts here. To re-focus the question, I'd be interested to read how you have implemented an enterprise set of solutions using AwareIM. I suppose the obvious approach is to build one bsv covering all users and functions, but I was wondering whether anyone ...

Re: Several business spaces with a single database
Interesting question. I have a situation where the organisation wants an enterprise data model implemented, and to have numerous applications accessing it (they want to go back to bespoke development for core functionality -they are well and truly over vendors and SAAS providers). Each of the applic...

AwareIM as a data migration tool
Guys, The organisation I contract to has purchased a software package that is hosted in the cloud, but it has vastly inadequate data migration tools. I am wondering whether AwareIM would be useful as a data migration tool. To that end, I am wondering (being non-technical): 1. Can an AwareIM instance...

Button height in grid rows
Guys, I have a form which has a grid of child records on a tab. With no operations defined, the grid height is fine. When I add a menu with a dropdown of actions that can be performed on the record in each grid row, the height of the grid row increases (to accommodate the button). I'd like to reduce...

Re: New Feature - tree output from queries
Hi, I downloaded the trial version from your website to have a play with, and it is definitely 8.8. I then started defining a new query, and expected to see Trees as a display option. I have attached a screen shot of the display options, and am not seeing Trees. I'm now thinking that maybe it isn't ...

New Feature - tree output from queries
Guys, Just having a look at 8.8, as I was interested in looking at being able to output a query to a tree (for an organisational structure). I started to define a new query, but can't see 'Tree' as an Display-As option - only the usual Grid, Chart, Kanban etc. The documentation says to choose the Tr...

Re: When will we see version 9
Being able to present the output of a query as a tree will be very useful for displaying hierarchical data. Looking forward to trying it out.

Can you run versions of a query from a VP
Hi, I suspect this can't be done, but thought I'd ask anyway, just to be sure. I have a business object (Persons), and there are two queries (query1 and query2) to list its contents (they list different attributes). Which query to run is dependent on an attribute of the logged-in user. What I'd like...
