I had the same problems until a few IE9 upgrades ago.
I currently have
IE9 (64bit):
v 9.0.8112.16421
U 9.0.4 (KB2618444)

And it seems to work ok.
Chrome works without problems.

In the meantime I have tried Solution D (variation on B):
Product Name is Calculated and a rule loads the correct Product Name from the ProductNameLocale BO.
The rule does however not execute at a Read/Query action. Therefore the Name does not get dynamically loaded....

Not sure if I understand your question.
Remember the rules around Guest access for the application BO. You must give access to the Guest level to the BO as well as to the attributes within the BO. Also don't forget read only access to related BOs (attributes with a BO type)
