I think Dallas is talking about exactly what I am talking about. When you enter BO names sometimes the names are not what the end user wants to see. like the following: BusinessAddress (the user may want to see 'Business Address' instead) ProductType (Product Type) I wasn't originally referring to r...

Business Object - User Defined Name

I have a situation where technical specifications were delivered with all BO names defined by the IT group. The app was built and displayed to the business and in a typical failing of communication between the 2 parties the IT naming conventions do not comply with the business requirements. While th...

LOOP_ITERATION

I was attempting to get the LOOP_ITERATION function to work and I used the exact example that is listed in the users manual: CREATE TRANSACTION WITH Transaction.FileName=LOOP_ITERATION FOR EACH FILE IN 'c:/mydirectory' When I attempt to save the rule I receive a syntax error (Syntax error at token "...

Shortcuts and Sorting

I have a reference object that I sorted with a text attribute and then a shortcut attribute: SORT Type - Ascending (<--Attribute) Name - Ascending (<--shortcut) I also grouped the data on Type. If I try to sort using the type and name no data will display in the grid. However, if I remove the shortc...

I was hoping to be able to sell my Aware apps via the web. Unfortunately, I could sell my app to a competitor and they could have my design and easily reverse engineer the product by owning a version of Aware. I will have to sell my products and use the developer runtime and not provide the configur...

It must be some form of truncation of non-numeric characters that the system is doing when saving the record since:

44.A = 44
44.12A = 44.12
44.A12 = 44

Thanks for sending the bsv to support Tom.

reCAPTCHA (which is used on Facebook, Ticketmaster, and Craigslist) has a JAVA plugin of their CAPTCHA product available at the following url: http://recaptcha.net/resources.html Not sure how/if this can be integrated with Aware but it appears to be free and might be worth the effort to try and get ...

I've wondered the same thing. It would be great if there was a limited version of the configuration tool that could be limited by the developer and deployed to the end user for simple changes but keeps them out of the parts of the app that only the developer should control. Maybe a configuration too...

My simple example is assigning regions: If I have a BO for States and a BO for Regions and I want to assign states to a Region then the user will only see 20 available selections. There is no way for them to filter the states to get exactly what they need because the states for each region can be co...

Adding records via 'ADD'

Hi, I have a reference object and when I click on the ADD button a list of availble records is presented. In my example I have 45 records in the list so what is presented to me is a system generated grid with the first 20 available records and the additional 25 records on 2 separate pages. If I sele...

BTW: I did read a write up that you did on implementing custom buttons and the syntax for using them. It seems that I would have to still refer to a process to make this work. My problem is that I don't know how to create the syntax start a query via a process.

Calendar Query via a process

I am trying to add a button to a form that runs a process to display a calendar presentation query. My problem is...that I can't figure out how to make it work :O(

My question; is is possible to start a calendar query from a process? If so, how?

Thanks,

Tazz
