We use the efax service via email for fax integration.

Simply create an outbound email (standard functionality) format an email and send to e-fax or other fax service that has an email to fax service.

Are you able to send emails from the server using a standard email client ? ( This will also help to confirm your outgoing SMTP settings are as expected) and also any error messages.
