Multiple Developer SCN?

Hi Folks

Once again we are trialing AwareIM (we tend to see how its progressing every year or so) and we think we have a new app that this environment might bee extremely useful to develop in.

One of our concerns is the ability to use an SVN service so that multiple developers can develop against the same app at the same time.

In the past we discussed (on this forum) exporting the solutions from one PC to another but we need something a bit more source controlled.

Is this possible with AwareIM and how so?

Thanks Powerm but not sure what you were pointing me too. I dont see anything (OK I'm an old blind guy now ;-}) regarding multi-developer of SVN in the documentation or the version update notes - did I miss something???

Cheers - shame that's not implemented. We have enough challenges keeping SVN straight without having to do export / compare and then cut and paste!

We need professional tools for multi-developers so sadly that make the environment a non-starter for our development!

Often you will save more time and effort using a development tool like Aware IM and allocating ONE developer to the project than using traditional professional environment like Visual Studio with all the version control tools (SVN, PVCS etc).

I see that - however our apps require several developers in terms of technical input and that demands SVN or some other form of source control.

We may still trial AwareIM for some of our smaller in-house apps that we are currently looking to port away from Servoy.

We are currently still looking at Lianja and WaveMaker as new environments.

Do you think that an SVN process might be available for AwareIM in the next version?

FYi, Wavemaker is far far away from AwareIM's features. I've seen Lianja as well but it is not really a RAD and not user friendly at all.

I agree with AwareIm here. It's such a great tool that one developer can quickly create large applications on their own. Sadly too say that I have 40 years experience in programming , numerous languages, working for large multinationals in large development teams, classically trained but never have I come accross such a tool as this. I've built complex, large applications with AwareIm by myself and maybe you just need to give it a try and think outside the square.

I recognise that but there is no current development tool that tick's all of the boxes unfortunately, and one way or another we need to make some long term commitments to ensure we don't end up supporting multiple environments with our apps!

WaveMaker is a pretty close approximation to the Servoy environment - at least for Web apps, and significantly better than VS ASP etc. Additionally our skills are almost directly transferable.

Of course AwareIM would be a no brainer if we could multi-develop with it!
