A rule specifies one or more [[glossary:action|actions]] that should be executed when the rule [[glossary:condition|conditions]] are met. The conditions are optional and if none are specified the actions are executed unconditionally. In other words a rule states what should happen and when. **//[[glossary:aware_im]]//** follows the rules defined by the [[glossary:configurator|configurator]] to manage the [[glossary:business_space|business space]] in the [[glossary:operation_mode|operation mode]]. Rules can perform a variety of tasks. They can create [[glossary:business_object|business objects]], perform calculations, create or print documents, display information, exchange data with other software, etc.
