===== Query =====

A query is used in the [[glossary:operation_mode|operation mode]] to find [[glossary:business_object|business objects]] that meet specified [[glossary:condition|conditions]]. Query results can be displayed to the user or used for processing by [[glossary:rule|rules]], for example within a [[glossary:process|process]]. Queries can also find objects that belong to a [[glossary:business_object_group|business object group]].

If query results are intended to be displayed to users, the [[glossary:configurator|configurator]] can select which [[glossary:attribute|attributes]] of the found business objects should appear on a standard result page. Alternatively a [[glossary:presentation|presentation]] can be designed for the query for customized display of the results.

The configurator can specify queries in [[glossary:query_simple_form|simple form]], [[glossary:query_rule_form|rule form]] or [[glossary:query_sql_form|SQL form]].
