Business object storage, also called persistence, determines where the [[glossary:business_object|business object]] data is kept. Usually the data is stored in a database. The [[glossary:configurator|configurator]] can nominate an object as not persisted, in which case the object is used in the [[glossary:operation_mode|operation mode]] temporarily and is not saved in the system.
