Attributes of basic_types that hold textual, numeric, date and time data can have a list of possible values specified by a configurator. When entering data in the operation_mode a user can select one of these values rather than having to type it manually. This feature offers convenience and saves data entry time.

In addition, the configurator can restrict the values allowed for the attribute to one of those in the list. In this case aware_im will validate the data against the list when the attribute is updated whether manually or by a rule.
