New in version 5.2

Aware IM 5.2 is a new release containing a number of new features, improvements and bug fixes. Here are the most important new features and improvements.

Export/Import of configuration data in XML

Previously Aware IM supported export to XML only. This export was not complete: it didn't export all the information about the BSV. Now this export is complete and the exported file can be imported back.

This feature can be especially useful for concurrent development. Two XML files representing two business space versions can now be used to see the differences between the two versions, which helps if a developer wants to merge his changes into the current production version.

Resizing queries and forms

There is now an option to allow end users to resize forms, grids, calendars, charts, schedulers and custom presentations. The user can also save the new size, so that his resizing changes are not lost for the next session. The changes are saved for the current user only without affecting other users who may work with different screen resolutions and sizes.

Saving layout of grids

End users have always been able to change column layouts of grids in the Aware IM applications. Now they can also save their changes, so that the layout stays for all subsequent changes. The changes are saved for the current user only. Users can resize columns, move them around, turn visibility of the columns on or off.

Constraining sizes of forms and queries

It is now possible to indicate min/max width/height for forms, grids, calendars, charts etc. This can be especially useful if the application is used in different screen resolutions and sizes. For example, setting min. width of a grid will ensure that the grid will be maximized on big screens and will be displayed with scroll bars on smaller screens.

Ability to control visibility of panels in dashboards

It has always been possible to create powerful dashboards in Aware IM applications. Now it is also possible for end users to dynamically control visibility of panels in the dashboard. The user can also save his current settings, so that the changes are not lost in subsequent sessions. The changes are saved per user.

Ability to upload picture on Android devices

It is now possible to upload pictures from the camera of the device or from the gallery to the server.

Support for encrypted attributes in MySQL and SQL Server

Aware IM can now automatically encrypt certain attributes of business objects when it saves them in the database. This feature can be very useful for storing confidential information.

Many more improvements

Aware IM 5.2 is packed with many other additions. Here are some of them:

  • It is now possible to specify applicability conditions for group boxes in forms.
  • Multiple group boxes in forms are now supported.
  • It is now possible to show timestamp attributes with a separate control for time.
  • Support for the "Create Object" operation.
  • Support for checkbox lists in search forms (interpreted as OR).
  • Support for Month view for scheduler.
  • Auto Save option in forms.
  • Filtering and CSV export for charts.
  • Support for "collapsed initially" option in frames in visual perspectives, queries and references.
  • EXPORT action now supports queries (including user defined) with the ability to use displayed attributes.
  • LOGOUT action.
  • Many more smaller improvements.
