Welcome to Aware IM 3.0, the latest version of our unique web application design and management software. Aware IM 3.0 delivers a number of improvements to the user interface, which make a web application feel more like a desktop application. And keeping with the Aware IM tradition none of them requires any programming.

So what's new?

Multi-panel pages

The big news is that you can now display multiple panels within a single section on page!

Not only that, but you can also specify that clicking a related item on form in one panel will display the related detail form in another panel. This way you can have virtually unlimited level of related data shown in separate panels on a single page!

Dashboards

Dashboards are one example of where you can efficiently utilize the space on page by displaying results of multiple unrelated queries. For example, you can design a home page showing the most important business events on one page (new emails, alerts, etc.)

Table-detail views

Another example is where you can click an item in a list to see its detailed form displayed underneath without hiding the list.

Tabs

Each section can now have several independent pages selectable by tabs. In addition to the main menu this gives you another degree of flexibility when configuring the look and feel of your application.

Smooth...

Thanks to the extensive internal use of AJAX technology, data on web pages in many cases is updated dynamically. This happens seamlessly without the browser whipping out and refreshing the entire page. For example, when data is changed by dynamically executed rules, only the changed data is redisplayed with the rest of the page remaining intact.

Another new great feature is dynamic pop-up windows shown on top of a greyed-out main page. The user has to make a selection to dismiss the window and return to the main page. The system displays such windows automatically when required. The use of dynamic pop-up dialogs makes the user interface more elegant and seamless.

User-resizable panels

With Aware IM 3.0 you can choose movable borders for sections of the page. The user will be able to resize a section by dragging its border, or click an icon to collapse the section. The other sections automatically gain the freed up space.

New styles

There are two new user interface styles in addition to the existing ones. Now you can use one or the four predefined styles, which you can customize further (colors, fonts, etc.)

New menus

A brand new horizontal multi-level dropdown menu was introduced along with a new icon-based tree-like menu. Now you have no fewer than four different menu types to choose from!

Rich text editor for text on forms

With Aware IM 3.0 you can now allow the user to apply formatting to text in text attributes. You can display formatted text in presentations, document templates, HTML-based e-mails etc.

Dynamic searches

You can now have a search engine - style search in Aware IM where the system automatically narrows-down the list of available choices as the users enter their text. Not only does it look neat, but it can also deliver real performance improvements when the list of available choices is large.

How to get the new version

If you hold an Aware IM license, simply login to your account and click Update on your license form. The new version is backward compatible with the existing applications.
