Most of use realize that while Access Level is easy, it becomes unusable once several levels of Security are needed.
I have found I need to add many YN fields in the User table to limit/allow functionality.
User's may have settings like:
ManagerYN
AdminYN
ApprovesTimeYN
SalesYN
Then I can easily enable buttons & menus based on a LIRU.xxxYN field = 'Yes'
I know you can take it a step further by having an actual RIGHTS multiple-child table under each User. This enables organizations to create their own groups and assign any of these to a given user. But the programmer still has to enable functionality throughout the BSV right?
So in my limited knowledge of this method I don't see it as a big bonus over a collection of YN fields.
how do you do this?
