Hi support,
I am not sure the AES encryption in 8.2 works as it should (or it it does, how does it work?). I have added an attribute, enabled encryption for the attribute and typed in a pass phrase but the attribute values are not encrypted in the database.
Regarding the encryption pass phrase, I have tried a couple of different things like "mykey" which didn´t work and then I researched the MySQL AES encryption feature a bit and a 128bit key needed to be used so I generated one "cQfTjWnZr4t7w!z%" (from site http://www.allkeysgenerator.com/Random/ ... rator.aspx) and that didn´t work either.
Please instruct on how this should work, what the requirements for the key / pass phrase is and another thing, is it possible to use 128bit > keys as passphrase (i.e use 256bit or 512bit) if we want?.
Thanks in advance

Re: 8.2 AES encryption bug?
Hi Henrik,
it's a bug - MySQL AES encryption is broken. Will be fixed in the next build.
