Visual Perspectives and DISPLAY LAYOUT

Post by tford »

Thanks to support for the new DISPLAY LAYOUT action.

In addition to the use described in the User Guide, I have found it handy to allow the Main frame of a VP now display more than 1 group of Content Panels.

For example, when a VP is first displayed it may show 3 content panels in a vertical layout. Prior to build 1209, if I wanted to show a different set of content panels in the main frame (let's say 2 content panels in a horizontal layout), I would have had to have a new VP.

Now, starting with build 1209, you can have a menu item on a VP that that uses DISPLAY LAYOUT to show a different set of Content Panels in that main frame. One way to use this is to set up a new "dummy" VP that has content panel layout that you want to show. This new "dummy" VP may never be displayed on it's own -- it may only be used in DISPLAY LAYOUT to show in the first VP.
