iFrame / IE issue and resolution

Post by tford »

Scenario: I placed an AwareIM link in an iFrame in a web page. It worked properly in FireFox, but not Internet Explorer. In IE, the session would immediately time out.

Solution: Support helped find this thread that of a known IE / iFrame issue and it's resolution.

Thanks again to AwareIM support for helping to solve this non-AwareIM browser issue.

I ran into this again. Below is the fix in case the link above disappears:
Looks like out-of-the-box winXP machines running IE6 have session cookies
automatically disabled!

Ughhhh, 24 hours slogging through newsgroups to stumble across this solution
myself.

If you have a login based site & rely on session(s), IE6 users will not be
able to log in unless they do the following:

1) Internet Options >> Privacy >> Advanced

2) Check the "Always Allow Session Cookies" checkbox
