Shortcuts and Sorting

I have a reference object that I sorted with a text attribute and then a shortcut attribute:

SORT
Type - Ascending (<--Attribute)
Name - Ascending (<--shortcut)

I also grouped the data on Type. If I try to sort using the type and name no data will display in the grid. However, if I remove the shortcut 'name' from the sort the data displays. I should also mention that whether I group the data or not, if I use a shortcut for sorting no data will display in the grid.

I guess my questions are the following:

A: Are we unable to sort using shortcuts?
B: is this a bug?

Sorting on shortcuts for groups doesn't work (it's a limitation). It should work for normal objects.
