Rgistering new users

I have a problem when using the logonGuest.aw url to allow access for registering new users. When I use the command "Register User" from a menu item, the user can fill in the details on their record, and the record is saved ok, but they immediately get a "Connection Failure" message. They then have to log in again using their new credentials. Is there something I'm not doing right or has this already been fixed (I'm on 8.7)
