I've finally set some time to do the try before you buy. Am using a MacBook Pro and have tried to set my JDK VM to 1.4.2 but am not being asked for my password a second time. Is it still necessary to enable this setting? Also I've notice a small app called Java Preferences (Applications/Utilities/Java/) and am wondering if this is an adequate alternative to setting my Java to 1.4.2?
Aware IM comes with a JDK version with which it was tested. It does not use Java provided by the Operating System. You do not need to take any additional actions to run Aware IM on Mac.
Sorry, the last reply is not quite true. On Mac Aware IM uses Java that comes with the operating system. You don't need to use Java 1.4 on Mac - it has been tested to work well with the current Mac version of Java (1.5)
