Yes, this gives a customer a 30 days evaluation period. When you purchase the licences you don't do another build with the licenses. Rather, the clients will install the licenses at their sites, which will convert their evaluation versions into the production versions.

This is happenning because the license file is empty. Just add a few lines into the license file and it will be OK.

This is the file that describes your license to your customer. If it is a test only just include any text file (but it has to be defined!)
