Re: 2024 Aware IM International Developers Conference

Who knows I just might be there! We will see - just started doing homework on AwareIM as a novice again - I really loved my Providence, Rhode Island experience and missed being in Portugal but i have my polo shirt - Arnold

Re: V9 NEW FEATURES discussion

Dang I definitely have to revisit using AwareIM with this new version 9 and see if it will work for me this time around. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it. The question for me is can I learn and develop and implement in a timely manner and do all the things I need to. Arnold

Re: 8.3 features at the Conference in Espinho

So cool Vlad - you and your team are busy, busy that is for sure! My questions for clarification from that 8.3 list: 1. will Aware then allow the use of GUID for the ID now - sounds like it is? 2. Will the handling of "External Databases" change with the the database sequence change? 3. I do not see...

Re: ►FYI◄ A great free introduction to Progressive Web Apps.

I know it has been a year and a half but I am curious!

Is PWA possible with Aware IM now or possibly in the near future? Or how can we extend Aware IM to do PWA?

@Ben - were you successful at building your PWA app?

Re: Use Database Identity Fields for Primary Key?

my 0.02 cents worth is PLEASE stay with INTs not GUID! Many times doing maintenance, I will find 1 (or more) records that I have to update and it is MUCH easier to type "UPDATE Table set field = 123 where ID between 100001 and 100003" Bruce Bruce - what kind of maintenance are you talking about and...

Re: 8.3 New Years Wish List - please add to list

If I were to add to the New Year Wish List - it would be the things discussed in these two forum threads: 1. Database Identity and External Database Strategy Changes https://www.awareim.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10873 2. Runtime configuration based on saved database setting or user event https:/...

Re: Use Database Identity Fields for Primary Key?

Just wondering in this discussion - what strategy would fit best to keep Aware IM working effectively but also be attractive to many new developers to the Aware IM community that have existing databases in production that they want to use Aware IM to develop their the web (and mobile) application ve...

Re: Use Database Identity Fields for Primary Key?

Hi Jamyer, I know you still consider me the new kid on the block and rightly so. I appreciate soothing of my tentativeness with the IDGEN. And I can appreciate that it is SOLID! My point of chiming in again involves - sorry for repeating myself differently: 1. With IDGen, there is a need to hardcode...

Re: Use Database Identity Fields for Primary Key?

I concur with all this - the current IDGEN concept makes me really nervous with my plans for my new SaaS product with many tenants and many subscribers/users to all those tenants - all doing heavy data entry, some all day long and congregating in mass during the month end cutoff for lots of them. I ...

Re: Attribute Text Case Setting for UPPER, lower, and Capita

Hi Jaymer, 1. good to know - I was wondering about that and should have tried without it. 2. But I do want the case to show properly as they are typing in not when they tab off or click on save - that is just me - I just want it that way and my customers love it. 2a. I tried the dynamic and tabbing ...

Re: External Database - Importing - Time Attribute

Thanks Vlad and Jaymer,
I should it in my screenshoot but never went to changed the Format to HH:mm and the Widget leaving it on Date/timer control (shows only the clock properly) -- and those two things made it happen correctly.

Yippee
